Bell Mobility Officially Launches in Western Canada
VANCOUVER, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - Bell Mobility officially launches its Western
expansion today with its consumer marketing campaign in Alberta and British
Columbia. The company began Western operations in 2000 to serve business
customers and build the foundation for its consumer launch. Today’s
advertising and promotional campaign heralds the beginning of Bell Mobility’s
active consumer effort in the West.
The consumer campaign consists of television, radio, and print advertising as well as street promotions. As part of Bell Mobility’s national commitment, it will be adopted across the country.
“This is an exciting day for Bell Mobility as we move forward on our strategy to become a truly national company,” said Pierre Blouin, Bell Mobility’s President and CEO. “Before launching our consumer effort, we felt it was important to become part of the Western communities and get to know what potential customers need and want from their wireless provider. We are thrilled the day has arrived for us to introduce ourselves to Westerners on a wide scale.”
Over the past 18 months, Bell Mobility has established offices in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. “We currently have over 150 Western employees, and expect to have more than 300 by next year,” Blouin continued. “We have opened 12 Bell World stores in the West and are gaining tremendous momentum. Last week alone, four new Bell World locations opened their doors.”
“It is exciting to be a Western-based team operating in the BC and AB market with the support of a national company’s proven track record. Bell Mobility serves over 3.7 million Canadians and has the lowest customer churn rate in North America. Customer value is at the core of everything we do and I believe Westerners will embrace that,” said Paul Healey, President of Bell Mobility, Western Region.
Bell Mobility recently announced its investment of $180 million to expand its network into Alberta and British Columbia. When the network lights up early in 2002, it will be the first 3G-ready wireless network in Western Canada.
Bell Mobility’s suite of wireless products and services is available through Bell World, Future Shop, Wireless Wave and Staples stores in Alberta and British Columbia.
